when I say fingerpainting, I mean physically putting paint on my fingertips and then swirling it around on the paper. I don't mean go into Adobe photoshop 6 and fingerpaint there (although the first painting was slightly edited in photoshop. But not painted.) But, since I am feeling creative, maybe my next fingerpainting will be a photoshop fingerpainting (I saw this cool one on deviantart.)
Random
Every time I go to write something on here, I can't think of what to write. So I'll just write junk.
A question for Kiri and Luke: is it ok if I put a link from this blog to your blog/deviantart site? *just use the comments to respond - or send an email, whatever you like* Now that I've figured out how to add links (after a few disastrous attempts at fiddling with code), I'd like to :-)
Aargh, feel so tired now that Kids Klub is over. It was so good though :-) But I can't wait till I get back to normal.
Alright, I'm going to try to find something more interesting to put here. I have a photobucket account.....oh man, what's my password? Okay, I gotta go figure it out.

Kids Klub ad
You know the Nicorette ad with Gary? It's like that:
Me: Hey Aaron! How are you?
Aaron: Good!
Me: Do you want to come over and watch footy tonight at 7pm?
Every single leader in the place stands up: (chanting) No, Aaron, no! No, Aaron, no! Nooooooooo, Aaron! (singing) No, Aaron, no! No Aaron no! No Aaron no! (chanting) Nooooooooooo, Aaron!
Aaron: (pause) No, I think I'll go to the Kids Klub concert tonight.

Kids Klub
Kids Klub is an event that happens annually at my church. And it rocks.
This year I get to help with grade seven - my favourite year level! Cos they're all so good at putting on their own shoes and engaging in meaningful conversation! :-D *The putting on their own shoes comment seems random, unless you know that we do gymnastics every morning during Kids Klub and this requires 30 pairs of shoes to be removed and then put on again..........it's a lot of laces to tie!*
Every year we have a drama that ties in with the theme (this year the theme is the Olympics, and yes, I am playing the character doing a commentary in a semi-Roy and HG style :-). Most years we are not *quite* at professional standard ;-) This year we are definitely not at professional standard.....but it's so much fun to ad-lib! (Subtext: You can't remember your line? I can't remember mine, either......)
But the kids love it! And so do we :-)
More on that later. For now, this is me :-) for VBSN (vacation Bible school news - meh, it's American), signing off!

Grace
I'm not in prison
I'm not locked up
But sometimes I stand
In the sunshine
Hearing the birds sing
Looking at the vibrant colours of the trees and flowers
And I shiver, and close my eyes tightly
As though I was still in
The grey, stone cell
With bars on the windows
Because I'm just not sure
If I open my eyes and look closely at the birds and the flowers and sunshine
Whether they will stay
Or whether they will leave
And I'll wake up
Back in the stone cell.
Dare I take a chance?
I'm not locked up
But sometimes I stand
In the sunshine
Hearing the birds sing
Looking at the vibrant colours of the trees and flowers
And I shiver, and close my eyes tightly
As though I was still in
The grey, stone cell
With bars on the windows
Because I'm just not sure
If I open my eyes and look closely at the birds and the flowers and sunshine
Whether they will stay
Or whether they will leave
And I'll wake up
Back in the stone cell.
Dare I take a chance?

Groovy Toilet Paper
Nicola Colledge
CHORUS
It’s okay
I’ve got groovy toilet paper now
It’s okay
I’ve got groovy toilet paper now
It’s okay
I’ve got groovy toilet paper now
VERSE 1
I wake up in the morning
And I’ve gotta go to school today
I try to fake sickBut I have to get up anyway
I’m feeling depressed
Until I open the door
And then I discover
What I didn’t know before…..
CHORUS
I step right off the bus
And I try to look cool
But who am I kidding
Come on this is school
I’m feeling depressed
Until I open the door
And then I discover
What I didn’t know before…..
CHORUS 2
It’s okay
School has groovy toilet paper now
It’s okay
No more cheap and nasty paper now
It’s okay
School has groovy toilet paper now
VERSE 3
There’s a kid in my class
And I think his name’s Burke
He’s just a psycho
And he’s going beserk
He’s feeling bad standing at the
Principal’s doorHe later discovers
What he didn’t know before…
The admin
They have groovy toilet paper now
It’s okay
It’s even got this picture of a cow
The admin
They have groovy toilet paper now
I guess today really hasn’t
Been such a bad day
Can’t wait to see the toilet paper
We’ll get on Friday
I’m feeling fine
Until I open the gate
And that’s when I discover
Toilet paper’s what I hate…..
My house
It’s been groovy toilet-papered now
My house
It got groovy toilet-papered now!
My houseIs sporting a picture of a cow, and a spider and a sheep and a whale and a dolphin and a Rudolph and a jetski and a clock and a table and John Howard and a Christmas tree with decorative lights and it’s stretchy…..
Which is the kind of toilet paper that I really like, cos it’s not like those cheap, nasty brands that feel like sandpaper and read ‘100% recycled’ which makes you wonder where it’s been previously and what the brown bits in it are.

A collection of thoughts....
It's the first of June. That means it's winter. I almost forgot that it was the first day of winter. And I never forget the first day of a season. Too much going on.
Winter, I've decided, is a lot prettier than summer. Although I do prefer summer, but maybe that's because summer is when Christmas, New Year's, my birthday and Sonfest all happen :-)
Tomorrow night I'm doing a play reading. It should be good. I love performing. We just finished a performance unit at uni, and now I'm feeling like I'd really like to do some more.
There are new episodes of Frasier on TV at the moment. I might go and watch some.
One day I'll put something more meaningful on here.....tonight is just idle chatter.
