This is a collection of random ideas and thoughts, which I will probably post when I'm bored or procrastinating.

Essays and radios

I don't want to write my essay. But it's due tomorrow.

I really just want to go to sleep now.

Oh well.

I have an idea - I'm going to do a little experiment. I'm going to listen to all the popular radio stations and compare and contrast them - after this essay, of course ;-)

My list of radio stations:
96.5
Triple J
Triple M
B105 :-s *I'd rather not do this one, I used to listen to it waaaaay too much - so I'll make this the shortest part of the experiment!*
97.3

Any others?

And then I'll need a list of criteria by which to measure them. Something like:
Style/s of music played
Amount of talk time
Lyrical content

Any other criteria I should include?

I've managed to put up with Nova so youmight want to try that one. Or you could just leave it on 96.5 and then I could still be lazy, and just turn on the radio and know that there was nothing sus on.

Percentage of airtime which is music (ads that say they play lots of music don't count, nor do ads that say 'no interuptions', etc. cause they all waste my time)

What about 4MBS Classic FM (103.7) and ABC Classic FM (106.1)?

It's funny when you turn on the radio and listen to 4MBS while listening to the online stream at the same time, which drags behind (10 seconds for me, makes me think of another experiment, hey).

Hmm, perhaps the more specific aspects of the music played eg: music on mainstream and independant labels, australian and overseas artists, when the music itself was produced etc etc.

Well in that case, Aaron Triple J comes out on top. I'm positively beaming at the moment. Right now the Herd's cover of I Was Only 19 is going off live!
